1. Two people have been arrested in connection with a string of thefts earlier this month at the Target on Lake Street. Oak Park police arrested two Chicago men Thursday. (OPPD)

2. The Illinois assault weapons ban has been halted by a downstate county judge.“We look forward to our day in court to zealously advocate for our neighbors who are weary of the gun violence epidemic,” Senate President Don Harmon of Oak Park said of the lawsuit. Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he is “well aware that this is only the first step in defending this important legislation." (CBS)

3. The Mobile Museum of Tolerance will visit Dominican University Jan. 31. The two-day event aims to “spread the message of human rights through lessons from historical figures.” (DU)
