Car Shooting, Battery, Man Arrested for Sexually Exploiting Child: Oak Park Police Blotter

The Oak Park police have been busy for the past four days.

The following items were taken from the Oak Park police blotter throughout the past four days. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Sexual exploitation of a child

  • Christopher P. Glover, 34, of Chicago was arrested the afternoon of Jan. 29 for disorderly conduct and two counts of sexual exploitation of a child. He’s being held at the police station in lieu of bond.

  • An unknown suspects fired shots from their car into another car full of people at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Garfield the evening of Jan. 28. One woman, who was sitting in the backseat, was injured when she was shot in her buttocks. The offender used a handgun to fire shots, according to police reports.

Battery

  • A woman was assaulted just before 8 p.m. Jan. 29 when someone came up to her, touched the back of her neck and said, “I find you attractive and I’m just trying to see what’s up.” The man, described as a 40-60-year-old black male with brown eyes and missing teeth, eventually fled on foot down an alley. The victim said he was wearing a knit cap, black coat, dark blue jeans and black shoes.

Attempted car theft

  • A black man in his 30’s and reportedly wearing a Cubs scarf, black knit hat and black jacket tried to steal a gold sedan from a resident, who had left the car running in the 200 block of Augusta. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 29.

Home burglary

  • Someone reported seeing two men, both black males between 17 and 20 years old, exiting a house in the 300 block of South Humphrey that they shouldn’t have been in. When police responded to the scene around 10 a.m. Jan. 30, they found a side door ajar and damaged.

Car burglary

  • Someone got into an unlocked 2002 gold Saturn sitting in the 6700 block of West Roosevelt Road between Jan. 27 and Jan. 28 and stole a gray and white wallet containing an Illinois ID. The estimated loss is $50.
