Colleges of Distinction rank Concordia University for fifth straight year

River Forest school lauded for enriching students through innovative learning opportunities.

Concordia University was selected as College of Distinction and Christian College of Distinction for the fifth consecutive year by the organization which ranks primarily undergraduate schools, according to a news release from the school.

The organization takes a look at student engagement, quality of teaching, vibrancy of the campus community and success of graduates, according to the release and its website.

“We are honored to be recognized with this distinction, which speaks volumes about Concordia-Chicago’s commitment to a quality educational experience for undergraduates,” Evelyn Burdick, the school’s senior vice president for enrollment and marketing, said in the release. “The University continues to prepare students as engaged and successful servant-leaders.”

Schools are nominated for the honor by high school teachers and college counselors. There is no ranking as all schools are considered equally good, according to the release.

“Colleges of Distinction provides more than just a ranking or a tally of test scores, Tyson Schritter, the executive editor of Colleges of Distinction, said in the release. “We identify colleges that offer every student an educationally rewarding experience. The Colleges of Distinction have earned solid reputations for nurturing and serving their students across every measure.”
