Elderly Driver Crashes Into Madison Street Building, Is Hospitalized
The driver was hospitalized for minor injuries.
OAK PARK, IL — An elderly driver was hospitalized after crashing into a building on Madison Street on Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reported.
Village spokesman David Powers told the Tribune the crash took place around 11 a.m. Feb. 1 after the driver, a senior citizen, lost control of the wheel and crashed. The resident had been traveling north on Ridgeland Avenue at the time.
The driver was taken to Rush Oak Park Hospital Wednesday for treatment of minor injuries, according to the Tribune. Powers said the accident may have been caused by the driver accidentally hitting the accelerator instead of the brake.
