Man Robbed at Gunpoint Walking from CTA Station in Oak Park: Cops

He was physically unharmed, but police continue to look for the suspects.

Two men allegedly robbed an Oak Park man at gunpoint Wednesday, according to police.

The robbery took place in the 800 block of Austin Street between 6:55 a.m. and 7 a.m., according to reports. One suspect, described as a black male in his early twenties and wearing a dark shirt, was reportedly driving a black Oldsmobile Alero when he and the other suspect, who was in the car with him, approached a man who was walking away from the CTA station on Austin Street.

The second suspect, described as a black man between 20 and 30 years old with dreadlocks, a slim build and all black clothing, allegedly shouted to the man to approach the car, and he did.

At that point, the second suspect reportedly showed the man a black handgun with an extended clip and told the victim not to move. He went through the man's pockets, stealing an Illinois ID card, CTA card, cash, a smart phone and red headphones.

The man was unharmed physically. Police haven't specified the dollar amount lost in the robbery.
