Here are the top three stories today in Oak Park-River Forest:

  1. In case you missed it - The Oak Park Department of Public Health launched an initiative to prevent opioid overdose deaths in May by installing emergency opioid overdose boxes in seven easily accessible public locations throughout Oak Park. Each box contains naloxone nasal spray and instructions on how to administer the medication to block the effects of an opioid overdose. The project is funded by the Illinois Opioid Allocation Agreement, and the aim is to reduce opioid overdoses in the community and provide resources to those in need. (The Village of Oak Park)
  2. Down the road in River Grove, a letter carrier was a victim of an armed robbery, and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. The incident occurred on West Richard Street, where four armed and dangerous suspects fled the scene in a silver Hyundai sedan. Anyone with information can call 1-877-876-2455, mentioning "law enforcement" and referencing case No. 3681116, and all provided information will be kept confidential. (Oak Park-River Forest Patch)

The meeting will be accessible to the public through live streaming and will also be archived online for on-demand viewing.
