1. The Walgreens store on Roosevelt Road was robbed Monday. Two men demanded money from the clerk, “implying they had a gun.” About $100 was stolen. (Patch)
2. Naloxone boxes will be installed this month at seven locations in Oak Park, including the library, Maple Park and four intersections. The village announced the project to “address the issue of opioid overdose in our community.” (VOP)
3. U.S. Rep. Danny Davis is expected to announce he will run for another term representing the 7th Congressional District, which includes the Oak Park area. If elected in 2024, it would be his 15th term in Congress. Davis is 82. (Paid source: Sun-Times)
4. Fenwick High School’s new principal Mark Rasar will step into the role July 1. “For me as a Catholic, it creates a unique opportunity for me to be able to share my faith and my moral grounds in a more open way,” he told the Wednesday Journal. (Wednesday Journal)

Chicago Public Library is honoring poet Gwendolyn Brooks this month with a group reading of her collection “Blacks,” along with panel discussions and a live performance of “No Blue Memories: The Life of Gwendolyn Brooks.” Oak Park’s Brooks Middle School is one of five in the state named after her.
