Rep. Lilly Asks Constituents to Participate in Child Abuse Prevention Efforts
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

Chicago, IL - Rep. Camille Lilly, D-Chicago, is highlighting April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month and encouraging residents to raise awareness about continued prevention efforts by creating a Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) Coalition in their community or attending a local event near them.
“It is truly unfortunate that cases of abuse and neglect still occur, and we can’t simply rely on rhetoric without proper action to follow through,” said Lilly. “While social media connects us with people from all over the world, it doesn’t facilitate personal connections with friends and neighbors. That is why we need to work together, promote and support grass root ideas on how to eliminate child abuse and neglect.”
April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month where communities and organizations partner together in an effort to promote and build effective services aimed at preventing child abuse. Lilly is encouraging residents to start their own CAP Coalition, which Prevent Child Abuse Illinois, a not-for-profit organization, can help facilitate local group development. Interested community members can find out more information on CAP Coalitions by visiting preventchildabuseillinois.org/.
