Shoppers Panic When Shot is Fired in Chicago Avenue Store: Oak Park Police

The two suspects haven't been caught yet.

Oak Park police were called to a store in the 100 block of Chicago Avenue when a gunshot was heard from within around 5 p.m. Jan. 14.

Two suspects, both described as black men between 18 and 21 years old, allegedly got out of a light-colored SUV and entered the store, which was unnamed in police reports. One of the men was wearing a camouflage jacket and matching pants, and the other was reportedly wearing a black hat and dark clothing. The second suspect is also described as having facial hair.

The pair exited the store after one of them shot a gun, according to police. Customers inside the store ran in every direction, panicked.

The men both allegedly pointed handguns in several directions before re-entering their car and leaving westbound on Chicago Avenue.
