1. An Olympic athlete from Oak Park has died. Ski jumper Patrick Gasienica, 24, was killed Monday in a motorcycle accident. (Yahoo Sports)

2. Wind storm damage to St. Edmund Church is being officially assessed this month, with “repairs and restoration estimated to be finished in late October,” the Wednesday Journal reports. Construction is expected to take 12 weeks. (Wednesday Journal)
