Stacey Williams Joins D90 Board of Education

She will replace former Board President Pat Meyer who resigned in June.

River Forest, IL – The River Forest District 90 Board of Education announced the selection of Stacey Williams as its newest board member.

Williams will replace former Board President Pat Meyer who resigned in June to relocate with his family to Colorado. Williams assumes her position immediately.

Williams was selected following a defined process based upon the Illinois School Code and
District 90’s policies. Five candidates submitted applications for the board position, and four were
interviewed by the current board members. Williams’ selection was confirmed during this
evening’s board meeting.

“We are truly fortunate to have Stacey Williams join our Board,” said Board President Ralph
Martire. “She has already demonstrated strong commitment to our community at large, as well as
our District’s students, faculty, and staff. Ms. Williams not only serves the District as a volunteer, but
also has played an integral role on the Board’s Equity Committee, and in developing the District’s
current strategic plan. Her intimate knowledge of District 90, plus the expertise she developed in
the business world, have uniquely prepared her to hit the ground running, and add immediate
value to our Board’s effort to resolve the core issues facing District 90. I heartily welcome Stacey
Williams as a member of the District 90 Board of Education,” he said.

A 10-year resident of River Forest, Williams’ two children attend Roosevelt Middle School
after completing first through fourth grade at Lincoln.

She is an active member of the District 90 and River Forest community, and currently serves as a member of the District’s Inclusiveness Advisory Board, the Board of Education’s Equity Committee, IMPACT Board of Directors, and the Oak Park River Forest Community Foundation Board of Directors.

Previously, Williams served on the District’s 2015 Strategic Planning Committee, the District 90 Community Caucus, various positions on the Lincoln School and Roosevelt Middle School PTOs, and as a District 90 School Board Liaison.

Most recently, she worked as an independent marketing consultant with clients that included
SportsChallenge Leadership Academy and Partscription, Inc. Prior to that, Williams managed
several national accounts for DDB Chicago and Leo Burnett, both full-service advertising agencies.
She has also worked in marketing for SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals in Philadelphia, PA.

Williams holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and a bachelor's degree from Temple
University."

“My goal as a Board member is to continue the work this Board and administration have already
started including the continued alignment of the Common Core with classroom instruction and
ensuring that all children have the necessary support and resources to reach their full potential,”
said Stacey Williams. “I am honored to be selected to work with such a hardworking and dedicated
group of people,” she said.
