The Village of Oak Park released stats this week about its progress in 2016, and they’re a whole new way to look at a year in review. Take a peek at these numbers, which can also be found in this infographic and on Oak Park’s website.

Oak Park is only 4.5 square miles, its website states, “but the municipal services that make our community such a great place to live, work and do business are anything but small.”

There are about 350 full-time workers in municipal services, including policemen, firefighters and paramedics.

Workers painted 6,889 feet of curbs last year.

The community saved 4,324,000 gallons of water with low-flow toilet rebates and water saver kits.

99,922 pounds of electronics were recycled.
