ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park voters headed to the polls Tuesday will decide which three of six candidates will have a hand in running Orland District 135.

Incumbent and current board president Linda Peckham-Dodge, in an alliance with Alan Kastengren and Francis Lattyak, go up against Patricia Thanos, Ryan J. Valan and Iwona Piwowarczyk in the April 4 election.

There are three seats available on the board.

Talking points among candidates center on assessment of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students, and effectiveness of curriculum. Candidates also noted a need for attracting and retaining high quality teachers, as well as some pushing for increased transparency from the board.
