144th Place Between LaGrange and John Humphrey Drive to Close Tuesday

Intersection reconstruction will close 144th Place between U.S. 45 (LaGrange Road) and John Humphrey Drive in Orland Park on Tuesday, July 7, according to IDOT, weather permitting.

A detour will be posted directing motorists to 143rd Street and John Humphrey Drive. All businesses along 144th Place will remain accessible. The closure will be removed by the end of July.

The work is part of the ongoing improvements to LaGrange Road through Orland Park, Orland Hills, Palos Park and Tinley Park. The 6.6-mile project, which stretches from 131st Street to 179th Street, will ultimately provide three lanes in each direction separated by a landscape median, according to IDOT.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area.
