90 Citations Issued In St. Patrick's Day Traffic Safety Push: OPPD

Orland police on Thursday shared the results of its traffic safety push around St. Patrick's Day.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park police on Thursday announced the results of its ramped up St. Patrick's Day traffic safety campaign.

Police made three arrests, and issued 50 seat belt citations, as well as 21 speeding citations, 2 cell phone citations, and 13 various other citations.

"We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives," said Orland Park Police Chief Eric Rossi.

The Orland Park Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement campaign.

The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
