Sandburg High School: Must-Know Dates For The 2023-24 Year

ORLAND PARK, IL — It's time! Freshmen at Sandburg High School have already kicked off their school year, with the rest of the student body set to return Aug. 17.

While they might not for the students, the days will fly by for parents. We've put together some dates to highlight for the year ahead. Some dates are subject to change. We suggest that you check the CHSD 230 calendar for late starts, early dismissals, exams, conferences, open houses, athletic and school events.

• Aug. 16: First day of school, freshmen
• Aug. 17: All grades report
• Aug. 22: Back To School Night, Sandburg
• Aug. 29: Back To School Night, Andrew
• Sept. 4: Labor Day, off
• Oct. 9: Columbus Day, off
• Oct. 10: Parent Teacher Conferences; no student attendance
• Oct. 12: PSAT/NMSQT (grade 11); regular attendance for grades 9, 10, 12
• Nov. 22: School holiday
• Nov. 23 to Nov. 24: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 22 to Jan. 5: Winter break
• Jan. 8: Institute Day, no student attendance
• Jan. 9: School resumes
• TBA: Mid-year graduation
• Jan. 10: ACCESS Testing begins, all EL students
