ORLAND PARK, IL — Volunteers soon will help with seasonal brush clearing, with a tasty reward when they're done. Helpers will clear small shrubs and trees at Orland Grassland, burning large brush piles to clear the debris—while brats sizzle over the piles.

Set for Saturday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, the Brats N' Burn event is designed to clear winter brush, and is volunteer-led.

"While they are clearing, the brats will be sizzling on the brush pile, green peppers and onions will be steaming, foil-wrapped potatoes, and perhaps sweet apples will be tossed in the hot coals," the Orland Grassland Volunteers group wrote in a release.
