Car Crashes Into Vacant Orland Park Storefront, No One Injured

ORLAND PARK, IL — No one was injured Friday morning when a car crashed into the front of a vacant store in Orland Park.

Orland Park Fire crews were called to the 9900 block of W. 151st Street at 11:15 a.m., for a report of a car that had crashed into a building.

Crews found a 2017 Chevy Malibu belonging to Orland Township that was completely inside a vacant storefront adjacent to the 7-Eleven.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was uninjured and received a thorough evaluation by OFPD paramedics, according to Orland Fire Protection District Spokesperson Ray Hanania. The driver declined transport for a medical check at a local hospital.

The damage to the building was assessed as being "non-structural," with two large glass panels destroyed.

Village of Orland Park Police and Building Department officials were at the scene to assist and evaluate the damage to the building.

A board-up service was contacted by the fire protection district and the damage was secured.
