Girl, 2, Dies After Store Display Falls On Her At Orland Mall
A 2-year-old girl died Tuesday at Orland Square Mall after a store display fell and hit her on her head.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A 2-year-old girl died at Orland Square Mall Tuesday afternoon after a store display fell on her, Orland Park police said.
According to police and fire officials, she had been shopping with her aunt at Akira when part of a display, possibly a section of shelving units, fell on her and hit her head.
The news outlet said a doctor and nurse who were shopping at the mall nearby attended to the toddler until paramedics arrived just before 2 p.m.

The girl was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said. No further information was available. The child's identity is being withheld pending family notification.
