Know Before You Go: Taste Of Orland Back For 20th Year Of Food, Fun

The Taste of Orland Park will be held Friday, August 4 through Sunday, August 6 at the Orland Park Village Center.

ORLAND PARK, IL — The Village of Orland Park's annual Taste of Orland Park, sponsored by Northwestern Medicine, is back at the Orland Park Village Center August 4–6. We've got the go-to pointers on where to be, when to make the most of the event.

The Taste of Orland Park showcases Orland Park eateries, community organizations and several bands throughout the weekend. Special events within the fest include live entertainment on two stages, a two-day Kids’ Zone, the annual Taste of Orland Park car show, themed trivia contests and a Battle of the Bands contest that features a performance by the winner on the main stage on Sunday, August 6 at 6 p.m. Live band karaoke (Saturday) and Improv (Sunday) are back again this year as well.

Admission, parking and most activities at the fest are free of charge.

FRIDAY, AUGUST 4

  • 6 to 10 p.m.: Battle of the Bands, Community Stage
  • 7:30p to 8:15 p.m.: Carl Sandburg Marching Eagles, Main Stage
  • 8:30 to 11 p.m.: Fool House (90’s), Main Stage

SATURDAY, AUGUST 5

  • 1 to 3 p.m.: The Music Company (Polka), Main Stage
  • 1 to 4 p.m.: Kids’ Zone, Village Green
  • 1 to 9 p.m.: Bingo, Civic Center
  • 4 to 6:30 p.m.: LP Vinyl (Classic Rock), Main Stage

  • 5:30 to 5:50 p.m.: VOP Dance Companies, Main Stage
  • 6 p.m.: Battle of the Bands Winner, Main Stage
  • 7 to 9 p.m.: American English (Beatles Tribute), Main Stage

A bags tournament will be held Saturday, August 5, with preliminaries at 3 and 4:30 p.m. Round 2 will be at 6:30 p.m., Round 3 at 7:30 p.m., and Championship game at 9 p.m. First prize is $300; $20 registration fee per team.

Trivia will also be held Saturday inside the Civic Center:

  • 2 p.m.: Stranger Things
  • 3 p.m.: The Simpsons
  • 4 p.m.: People's Choice
  • 5 p.m.: People's Choice

A car show will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. in the John Humphrey parking lot. Over 200 vintage and modern day cars will take over High Point School. You can pre-register your car here or day of the event on-site registration will also be available from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Event will be held rain or shine, no refunds. Last car through the gate at 1 p.m.

WHAT ELSE TO EXPECT:

All food and drinks are purchased with cash at the individual vendor booths, so come prepared. Need more cash? No worries, there is an ATM on-site.

Bags will be inspected at entrance locations.

Guests may bring one sealed water bottle per person. No other outside food or drink will be allowed into the event. Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the event and reminded that no tables are allowed to be brought in.

Free parking is available at a number of sites around the Village Center including the parking tower at 143rd Street and Ravinia Avenue.
