Man Plummets Down Well, Is Rescued By Orland Park Firefighters
The man fell 20–30 feet down into the well in the basement of the home Wednesday afternoon.
ORLAND PARK, IL — A contractor working inside a home in Orland Park Wednesday was rescued after plunging 20 to 30 feet down a well in the home's basement, Orland Fire Protection District officials said.
The accident happened at 2 p.m. Wednesday, with firefighters working for an hour to pull the man from the depths of the well at the home in the 14300 block of Oakley Avenue, officials said.
The extent of his injuries is not yet known, said Orland Fire Protection District Chief Michael Schofield.

The contractor, who has not yet been identified, is in stable condition, paramedics said.
