Midlothian Man, 44, Arrested In Orland Park Carjacking: Police

ORLAND PARK, IL — A Midlothian man was arrested Thursday in connection with a carjacking at gunpoint Wednesday evening in Orland Park, police said Friday.

Police were called Wednesday to the 15100 block of Orlan Brook Drive, for a report of an armed carjacking. A victim told police that he had been forcibly removed from his vehicle at gunpoint, with the suspect fleeing in his car.

Orland Park and Midlothian police recovered the car after a brief foot chase with the suspect Thursday, police said Friday.

Shawn Flores, 44, of Midlothian was arrested and charged with aggravated vehicular hijacking and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, Orland Park police said Friday.

"This arrest underscores our commitment to the safety of our community and the effectiveness of inter-departmental cooperation," Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau said.
