A 30-year-old man is being treated for non-life threatening injuries after he was shot at least three times, and then chased his assailants around southwest Orland Park while they continued firing at him on open roads.
The Orland Park Police Department was called around 2:50 a.m. Friday about a shooting in the 10900 block of Antelope Lane, according to Orland Park Police Commander John Keating. Earlier Friday morning, two men armed with handguns broke into a house through a garage access door, demanded cash and jewelry and shot the 30-year-old man at least three times, Keating said. The man’s fiancée, two girls ages 5 and 6 and a nanny were at home at the time, but the women and girls were not injured, Keating said.

The two men, described as black and wearing dark clothing, got into a silver PT Cruiser parked outside the house, with a man described as 30 years old and Hispanic behind the wheel, and they drove away to 108th Avenue and headed south, Keating said.
The shooting victim then chased after the attackers in his own vehicle, following them south on 108th Avenue and then west on 179th Street, while his fiancée called 911.

“Offenders in the vehicle were firing shots at him while they both were moving,” Keating said. “The suspect vehicle then does a u-turn and continues firing shots at victim’s vehicle. They go back eastbound, then south on LaGrange and then east on I-80. At the I-80 eastbound ramp there’s more shots fired at the victim’s vehicle.”
The shooting victim continued chasing the attackers east on I-80 but lost sight of them near Harlem Avenue. The man then turned around and headed back west on I-80, exited on LaGrange Road and flagged a patrol officer, Keating said.
“He was obviously injured and feeling the effects of the wounds,” Keating said.
“He is now being interviewed by detectives and he’s alert.”
A suspect has been identified and police are seeking the individual, though no one has been apprehended as of noon Friday, according to Keating.
An arrest warrant was issued for a man suspected in the shooting case. Police are looking for .
