ORLAND PARK, IL — A 62-year-old Chicago man was arrested following an armed robbery at an Orland Park gas station Sunday evening, police said Wednesday.

Police were called to the Mobil gas station at 143rd and LaGrange Road just before 6 p.m. Sunday, after a 911 call of an armed robbery. A man flashed a gun and demanded money from inside the cash register, Commander Ken Rosinski said. The suspect fled before police arrived.

Orland Park Police investigators were able to identify the suspect’s vehicle, which was registered to a Nathan Phillips. Investigators identified Phillips as the suspect in the armed robbery. Phillips stole $1,000, Rosinski said. The cashier was not harmed in the incident.
