Orland Park Police Blotter: Swerving Caddy, Stuffed Purse and Domestic Battery

Orland Park police reports, July 9-15

SUNDAY, JULY 15

Caddy Swerve

Police were called about possibly intoxicated people in a Cadillac at 7-Eleven, 9985 151st St., around 3:35 a.m. The officer saw a car matching the description drive away north on West Avenue when it swerved heavily, crossing the yellow center line, before it was pulled over, police said. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, police said. Patrick J. O’Connor, 26, of the 14400 block of Kolin Avenue in Midlothian, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and driving an uninsured vehicle.

Warrant Arrest

Police were called to Will County Jail about a man wanted on an Orland Park warrant around 12:05 a.m. Cortez D. Lain, 27, of the 500 block of Pasadena Avenue in Crest Hill, was arrested on an Orland Park warrant for retail theft.

Purse Ruse

Police were called about a retail theft at Sephora around 2:10 p.m. Security said a woman was seen placing items into her purse and leaving the store without paying, according to the report. The eight items are worth $230, police said. Susan O. Siano, 22, of the 16900 block of Meadowcrest Drive in Homer Glen, was charged with retail theft.

MONDAY, JULY 9

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a man and woman fighting in the 7800 block of 157th Street around 3:25 p.m. The officer saw three people fighting on the driveway upon arriving, and told the three to stop, according to the report. One man taunted the officer and ran when told to stop, police said. The two remaining people told police that the man who ran away had made threats and became violent following an earlier disagreement, throwing punches and shoving people, police said. Another officer found the man shortly after he ran, and was taken in to the police station, according to the report. While he was processed, he made several threats toward the officers, police said. Aymen W. Abdullah, 24, of the 7800 block of 157th Street in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.
