ORLAND PARK, IL — Images taken at the scene where a contractor fell into a well Wednesday capture the rescue effort made by Orland Park firefighters.

The incident happened at 2 p.m. Wednesday, when a man reportedly fell 20–30 feet into a well in the basement area of an Orland Park home in the 14300 block of Oakley Avenue, officials said.

Firefighters worked for an hour to lift the man to safety. The extent of his injuries was not known Wednesday. Paramedics reported the man as in stable condition.
