ORLAND PARK, IL — The winners of Orland Park's Edward's Realty Company Pop Local program have been announced, and a new business will receive three months of free rent in Orland Park Crossing this holiday season.

The winners, Pomp & Chic Boutique, will appear in the premier retail space at 14225 95th Ave, Orland Park. The boutique won the slot after an initial community voting process, and a panel of judges from a pool of nearly 30 applicants. The Pop Local program provides entrepreneurs the opportunity to test out their products and/or service in a traditional retail environment.

“After we saw the tremendous amount of interest in our Pop Local program at our other two properties in Burr Ridge, IL and St. Louis, MO, we knew it was time to bring the program to our hometown of Orland Park,” said Ramzi Hassan, President of Edward's Realty Company. “Local small businesses like Pomp & Chic are the bread and butter of our community, we are pleased to give them a platform and shine a spotlight on them at Orland Park Crossing.”

According to the company, Pomp & Chic Boutique, a one-stop shop for chic style and fashion, focuses on helping women and moms feel comfortable and beautiful in the skin they’re in. Its owners, Nicole Cummens and Victoria Wisniewski, are both mothers of two and passionate about body positivity, promoting self-confidence and ending retail intimidation. Cummens, a single mom who spent the bulk of her career in the wholesale and retail industry, decided to open the boutique in February of this year, after hitting a wall during the pandemic.

“As moms, we lose our identity when we have kids,” said Nicole Cummens, CEO of Pomp & Chic Boutique. “It’s so easy to get sucked into this mental state that we aren’t enough. The Pop Local program is going to allow us to connect with women face to face and help them find outfits that make them feel confident and empowered. This is the greatest gift we could have received; from the community we love!”

A grand opening event with ribbon-cutting and reception for Pomp & Chic Boutique’s opening and to celebrate the Pop Local program will be held on Nov. 5.

Edward's Realty Company established the Pop Local program in an effort to creatively adapt to the new retail environment by taking a unique approach to available space at the company’s lifestyle centers. The program has been met with great success at its other lifestyle centers – Burr Ridge Village Center and The Boulevard St. Louis.
