Village Warns Of Roofing Contractor Scams After Hailstorm Hits Orland

Residents should be careful of unlicensed contractors going door-to-door offering their services.

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park officials are warning residents to be wary of people soliciting roofing repair services, after a hailstorm hit the area Tuesday.

A number of roofing companies are going door-to-door in the Village of Orland Park. Using an unregistered vendor could leave residents susceptible to scams, fraud and possibly more damage to their house, officials warned.

"Property owners need to be vigilant and protect themselves and their property by obtaining current information on roofing contractors," Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau said. "Verifying roofing registration is an important and easy step."
