Find out where snowplows are in real time using the Village's snowplow tracker.

ORLAND PARK, IL — As snow continues to steadily fall Saturday, snowplows are out, trying to clear Orland Park streets and make travel less hazardous.

A winter storm warning issued Friday projected accumulations between 6 and 10 inches, with locally higher amounts possible, the National Weather Service shared.

The warning was issued for McHenry, Lake, DeKalb, Kane, DuPage, Kendall, Grundy, Kankakee, Cook and Will counties from 3 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

Snow rates of .5 inches to 1 inch per hour are expected during daylight hours on Saturday, the weather service said. Snow is expected to taper after sunset Saturday.

Orland Park residents can track plows' paths using the Village's Snowplow Coverage Map. Find out when plows will reach you or other areas in your town. Snowplow coverage is represented by blue points, with darker blue points representing more recent coverage. Use the Village OP311 system to report dangerous road conditions or weather-related concerns at orlandpark.org/op311.

The mapping application can be used to view the real-time coverage of the Village of Orland Park's snowplow operations, the Village advises. Residents and stakeholders can view current snowplow locations, as well as snowplow coverage from the previous eight (8) hours. Snowplow coverage is represented as blue points, with darker blue points representing more recent coverage.

Residents can use the search tool (magnifying glass) to look up an address or property. Zooming into a particular location will activate labels showing the date and time of snowplow operations for that location. Use the basemap gallery tool to switch the map background to aerial imagery or other options. Use the layer list to toggle layers on and off including snowplow coverage, snowplow road jurisdiction, and weather radar imagery.

All Village-owned streets will be plowed, including side streets and cul-de-sacs. Several state and local agencies other than the Village are responsible for snow removal on some roads. Find out who's responsible for which streets here.
