Woman, 28, Found Shot To Death In Car Identified: Orland PD

ORLAND PARK, IL — Orland Park police have released the identity of a woman found fatally shot inside a car in the overnight hours Wednesday.

Mechellea Williams, 28, of Chicago, was found shot inside a car in the 170th block of Redbud Lane, Orland Park police said Wednesday afternoon. Life-saving attempts were unsuccessful, Orland Park police said.

Police were called at 12:03 a.m. Wednesday to the vicinity for a report of perceived shots fired. Police discovered Williams inside the car, police said early Wednesday.

Police did not disclose if Williams was the passenger or driver of the vehicle. The shooter fled the area, police said.

The investigation is active and ongoing, police said. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force is working with the Orland Park Police Department on the investigation.
