18-Year-Old Charged With Reckless Driving: Oswego Police
A teen driver from Yorkville faces class A misdemeanor charges after hitting three vehicles in a Target parking lot
OSWEGO, IL — A Yorkville teen is facing charges of reckless driving after allegedly hitting three parked cars and causing minor injuries in the Target parking lot on 3020 Route 34, an Oswego Police report said. According to that report, 18-year-old Lauren Franklin cut through the parking lot in an SUV on Saturday, Dec. 21, shortly before 1 p.m. Police responded a few moments later.
Franklin allegedly hit two other SUVs and a sedan, injuring a 24-year-old Oswego driver, a 36-year-old Aurora driver and a 50-year-old Sandwich driver in the process. After colliding with the three vehicles, Franklin's own SUV somehow flipped onto its roof.
None of the injuries Franklin allegedly caused the other individuals was life-threatening, and no one was taken to the hospital. Regardless, the police report stated that Franklin was charged with the class A misdemeanor of reckless driving, a charge that carries a maximum sentence of a year in jail and up to $2,500 in fines.

Franklin was released from the scene of the incident on a recognizance bond and has a court date scheduled for Jan. 21, 2020. All charges against Franklin are merely accusations and she is considered innocent until proven guilty.
