2 Charged In Boulder Hill Shooting That Left 1 Woman Dead

James Brown Jr., 26, of North Aurora and Jaquarance Handley, 31, of Joliet, have been charged with four counts of felonies.

KENDALL COUNTY, IL — Two men have been charged in connection to a drive-by shooting Wednesday in unincorporated Boulder Hill subdivision that left one woman dead and another injured, the Kendall County Sheriff's Department said.

On Friday, the Kendall County State’s Attorney’s Office charged James Brown Jr., 26, from the 200 block of Linn Court in North Aurora and Jaquarance Handley, 31, from the 900 block of Bluebell Circle in Joliet, police said.

Both were charged with one count each of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, aggravated battery with a firearm and aggravated discharge of a firearm. Handley and Brown have been in custody since Friday and following a bond hearing Saturday, their bond has been set at $2 million for each, police said.

Deputies responded to a home around 11:06 a.m. Wednesday on the 0-99 block of Sierra Road and found two women suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the women, who was in her 40s, was taken to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead, police said. The second woman, who was in her 20s, was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and is receiving ongoing medical treatment.
