4 Oswego D308 Students Named To Board Of Education

Two students from each high school were appointed to the Board of Education, and two were tapped as alternates for the 2025-26 school year.

OSWEGO, IL — Four students were named to the Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education for the 2025-26 school year, officials said.

Khali Parnell and Daiwik Muralidharan, representing Oswego High School and Oswego East High School, respectively, were appointed board members, while Oswego East student Joel-Klein Esuke and Oswego High student Morgan Esbjorn were named alternates.

"We welcome the newest members of the Board of Education," Board President Dominick Cirone said in a statement. "We look forward to growing from the valuable perspectives of our student members and alternates."

This marks the fourth year of student representation on the Board, which officials said reinforces the district's committment to taking student feedback into the decision-making process.

The students were chosen after an application and interview process with the Board of Education. Students will serve a one-year term on the Board and also partake in the superintendent's Student Advisory Council, a larger group of high school students who meet regularly to address and respond to student concerns as well as collaborate with district leaders to ensure student voices are heard.

"In SD 308, we truly value the voices of our students; giving students a seat at the Board table is the perfect example of our commitment to ensuring their voices are heard," Superintendent Andalib Khelghati said.
