8 Candidates Vie For Oswego Trustee Seats: 2025 Election

Four trustee seats — one two-year term and three four-year terms — are on the ballot in Tuesday's consolidated election in Oswego.

OSWEGO, IL — The Oswego Village Board will shift after Tuesday's consolidated election, in which eight candidates are running for trustee.

Four trustee seats — one two-year term and three four-year terms — are expiring this spring. The seats are currently held by Karen Novy, Tom Guist, Kit Kuhrt and Jennifer Jones Sinnott, respectively.

In the race to fill the three available four-year terms, Republican candidates Jennifer Jones Sinnott, Jim Marter II and Terry Olson are running, as well as Democrats Rachelle Koenig, James Cooper and Karen Novy.

Candidates for the unexpired two-year term are Republican Lori West and Democrat Jennifer Hughes.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

A primary election was held Feb. 25 in Oswego to narrow down the four Republican trustee candidates to match the number of Democrat candidates who filed. Incumbent trustee Kit Kurht received the fewest number of votes and did not move on to the consolidated election, Patch reported.
