ADA Improvements Planned In Downtown Oswego

OSWEGO, IL — Accessibility upgrades are coming soon in downtown Oswego, village officials announced.

Construction is slated to begin Aug. 25 on Main Street and Harrison Street.

On Main Street, a new Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant ramp as well as two additional parking spaces will be installed outside of Imagination Print and Design, 68 Main St. The Harrison Street parking lot, off Washington Street, will be resurfaced, and surrounding sidewalks and crossings will also be upgraded to meet ADA standards, according to an alert from the Village of Oswego.

Village officials are warning locals of interruptions and increased traffic during construction.

Communications Manager Lisset Padilla told Patch that the village does not currently have an expected completion date for the project.
