Appliance Fire Injures Person In Churchill Club Subdivision

The fire caused about $75,000 in damage to the multi-residence building in Oswego, according to authorities.

OSWEGO, IL — One person was sent to the hospital after a fire broke out in an Oswego home Monday. The fire was sparked by an appliance in a home within the Churchill Club subdivision, according to the Oswego Fire Department.

At about 7:30 p.m. Monday, firefighters responded to the multi-family building within the subdivision and found that the fire had been contained in a first-floor laundry room. The fire was extinguished, but heat and smoke damage were noted throughout the home, according to the fire department.

A person who lived in the house was brought to Copley Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, the department said. An investigation is underway.
