Aurora Man Drove 37 MPH Over Speed Limit While Intoxicated: Oswego PD
The Aurora man was charged with four misdemeanors after police pulled him over for driving 82 mph in a 45-mph zone, officials said.
OSWEGO, IL — An Aurora man was charged Thursday night after he drove at least 35 mph over the speed limit on Orchard Road while intoxicated, Oswego police said.
At about 9:46 p.m., officers pulled over a car driven by the 30-year-old Raul Silva-Alvarez for speeding on Orchard Road, near the intersection with Galena Road. The driver was traveling 82 mph in a 45-mph zone, spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.
During the traffic stop, officials also determined Silva-Alvarez was also driving under the influence of alcohol, according to a news release.

Silva-Alvarez, of the 1800 block of Heather Drive in Aurora, was charged with three misdemeanors: driving under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of 0.08 or more, driving 35-plus mph over the speed limit, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
The Aurora man was taken to the Oswego Police Department for processing and was released with a pending court date of Dec. 1.
