Barnes & Noble Plans New Store In Oswego
The bookseller plans to renovate 16,000 square feet of space that used to belong to Oswego's former DSW.

OSWEGO, IL — Barnes & Noble is coming to Oswego, village leaders announced Thursday.
The popular bookseller is taking over the former DSW shoe store at 2490 Route 34. The company plans to renovate 16,000 square feet of space to showcase its latest interior design seen in the most recent store openings, officials said.
Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in January with plans for a summer 2024 opening.

"I couldn't be happier to welcome Barnes & Noble to our community!" Village President Ryan Kauffman said in a statement. "Bookstores are one of my favorite spots. This new addition promises to be a haven for literature lovers and a vibrant hub for intellectual engagement. It’s not only a step forward in enhancing the cultural fabric of our town, but will also elevate and diversify our retail offerings."
Besides books, the Oswego store will sell games, toys and gifts. It'll also feature a B&N Cafe.
