Body Recovered After Caller Reports Sighting In Fox River: Oswego Police
The body was found in shallow water near the Washington Street Bridge, police said.
OSWEGO, IL — Hours after reporting a large police presence near the Fox River along Washington Street, Oswego police said a body had been recovered from the river.
According to police, officers were dispatched to the Fox River near the 100 block of West Washington Street around 5:24 p.m. Monday after a caller reported seeing something unusual in the water.
Police used a drone and located what appeared to be a body lying in shallow water in the center of the river, near an island about 100 feet southwest of the Washington Street Bridge.

The Oswego Fire Protection District conducted a water rescue/recovery and confirmed that the person was dead, police said. Emergency crews recovered the body, which was taken to the Kendall County Coroner's office. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, police said.
No other information was available Monday night.
