Boulder Hill Fire Completely Destroys Garage

The fire had burned through ComEd power lines located directly behind the garage causing a power outage in the area.

OSWEGO, IL — The detached garage at a Boulder Hill residence was destroyed by a fire Monday, the Oswego Fire Protection District said.

Firefighters responded to the fire at 9:01 p.m. in the 0-100 block of Pueblo Road. Upon arrival, they found the garage fully engulfed by the flames, and two adjacent structures as well as two vehicles had also sustained minor damage.

The fire district also said the fire had burned through ComEd power lines located directly behind the garage causing a power outage in the area. No injuries were reported and the fire was under control within 15 minutes.

The garage has been described as a "total loss" by the district and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Plainfield and Sugar Grove Fire Protection Districts provided coverage at Oswego Fire Protection District stations as Oswego firefighters extinguished the flames.
