Boy, 11, Struck By SUV While Riding Bike, Police Say

The boy was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Oswego Police said.

OSWEGO, IL — An 11-year-old Oswego boy was injured after being struck by a car while riding his bike, police said. The boy suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Just before 8 a.m. Thursday, the boy was riding his bike in the 300 block of Bluegrass Parkway in Oswego when he left a driveway to cross the street, Oswego Police said in an incident report. While crossing the street, the boy was struck by an SUV traveling eastbound on Bluegrass, police said.

The boy was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and the driver of the car was not hurt, according to police. The driver of the SUV, a 58-year-old Oswego man, said he was unable to avoid the boy as he emerged from the driveway, police said.
