2-Year-Old, Adult Hospitalized After Car Fails To Yield In Crash: Oswego Police

The crash happened at the intersection of Douglas Road and Fernwood Road in Oswego, police said.

OSWEGO, IL — Two people, including a 2-year-old, were hospitalized Wednesday evening after a crash at Douglas Road and Fernwood Road, Oswego police said.

The crash occurred at about 7:35 p.m. after a Lexus, driven by a 66-year-old Aurora woman, that failed to yield at the intersection, according to Thursday's blotter.

The Lexus was headed north on Douglas Road when the driver turned onto westbound Fernwood Road without yielding to a Hyundai, which was driving south on Douglas Road.

The Hyundai driver, a 28-year-old South Carolina woman, and the child passenger were both hospitalized with injuries, police said.

The Aurora woman received a citation for failure to yield at an intersection, and the South Carolina woman was cited for a child restraint violation, spokesperson Cathy Nevara told Patch.
