Check Sex Offender Registry Before Halloween, Sheriff Says
The Sheriff's office announced extra patrols for Halloween.
OSWEGO, IL — The Kendall County Sheriff's Office has announced Halloween safety efforts, and its asking residents to help. One way to do so is to check local sex offender registries before heading out to trick-or-treat, according to the sheriff's office.
Kendall County will have increased patrols on Halloween night, which is Thursday. Deputies and auxiliary deputies are out to interact with the citizens and help provide a safe environment for Halloween activities.
Residents are encouraged to check local sex offender registries. Sex offenders are prohibited from participating in trick-or-treating, but it is good to know where the offenders live, the office says.
