Joliet Councilman Larry Hug said he was involved in an incident at the Double J Sports Bar Thursday which led to him calling the police.
"All I can tell you is there was an incident in which I called the police and filed a report," Hug said Monday. "I had to to call the police and file charges."

Hug declined to elaborate what kind of charges he said he filed or who they were against. He said he did not "want to be discussing it publicly," claiming it would be irresponsible as an elected official since there is an ongoing investigation.
Joliet Police Deputy Chief Al Roechner said that no one was taken to the hospital after the incident. He would not release the names of the people involved because the investigation has not determined who, if any, are victims.

"There was an altercation and we're reviewing it," Roechner said. "It's under investigation so there's really nothing I can say about it."
Roechner said no one has been cited as a result of the altercation, and he did not know if charges were anticipated.
Representatives of Double J Sports Bar, located at 1001 Essington Road in Joliet, did not return a request for comment. Patch.com has requested the 9-1-1 call, police report and possible video surveillance tape of the incident under the Freedom of Information Act.
