Crash Shuts Down Douglas, Old Post Intersection: Oswego Police

A crash at the intersection of Douglas and Old Post Roads shut down both for a short time on Wednesday, Feb. 5, Oswego Police reported.

OSWEGO, IL —A crash at the intersection of Douglas and Old Post Roads closed the area to traffic for about an hour on Wednesday, the Oswego Police reported. The crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. and involved two SUVs, according the police incident report.

A 69-year-old Oswego woman was driving west on Old Post Road and had just passed into the intersection with Douglas Road, the report said, when a 40-year-old Aurora woman traveling north along Douglas Road hit her. The report also said that a a 17-year-old and a one-year old were in the car with the Aurora woman at the time of the crash.

Luckily, no one was injured in the crash, but the police did shut down the intersection and the area immediately surrounding it for about an hour. This closure - and the intersection's re-opening - was announced on the Oswego Police Department's Twitter feed.

The police have not yet stated if either driver involved in the crash will face any charges.
