Dog Dies In House Fire: Oswego Fire Protection District

No people were injured in the fire, though the residence sustained an estimated $30,000 in damages was deemed unihabitable.

OSWEGO, IL — A dog died in a house fire early Saturday morning, a press release from the Oswego Fire Protection District stated. According to that release, firefighters responded to reports of a structure fire on the 2800 block of Providence Lane at around 3:10 a.m. Upon arriving at the scene, they found a fire burning in a residential garage, with the flames beginning to enter the home proper.

It took firefighters 15 minutes to bring the blaze under control. No fatalities or injuries were reported besides the dog, but the house was deemed uninhabitable by fire authorities. The fire caused an estimated $30,000 in damage to the structure.

The cause of the fire was deemed to not be suspicious.
