Separate DUI Accidents Hospitalize 2 Men

In one of the two incidents Saturday, the driver crashed his car into Fox River Trail Bridge.

Accidents related to driving under the influence near Oswego on Saturday sent two drivers to Rush Copley Medical Center for their injuries.

In the first incident, the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said Alonzo Varela, 20, of Aurora was driving south on Route 25 around 9:45 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and struck the Fox River Trail Bridge near .

paramedics transported Varela to Rush Copley for major injures to his leg and midsection, the Sheriff’s Office said. He was then transported to Loyola University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition, hospital personnel said.

He was charged with improper lane use and driving under the influence of alcohol. 

At about 9:15 p.m. that same day, Raudel Rosales-Garcia, 29, of Naperville crashed his vehicle in the 900 block of Harvey Road, the Sheriff’s Office said. He was taken to Rush Copley where he was treated and released.

After leaving the hospital, Rosales-Garcia was charged with DUI, improper lane use and having no insurance, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
