Edward G. Wagner, 85, Served Honorably in US Army

Edward G. Wagner, age 85 of Plainfield, IL at rest November 1, 2013. He was born July 12, 1928 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Henry J and Mabel C (nee Merrill) Wagner, Sr.

Beloved husband of Sophie L. (nee Dziedziak), father of Glenn E. (Shelley) Wagner, Susan M. (David) Niedzielko, Sally A. (James) Bassett, and Thomas E. (Patti) Wagner.  Grandfather of Lisa Patterson, Kevin Wagner, Allison Scigalski, Steven, Michael and Robert Bassett, James, Christopher and Katy Wagner.  Fond brother and brother-in-law of  Dorothy  Stech, Gladys Kennelly, James (Roberta) Wagner, Marion Wagner, Eleanor (James) McNutt and Irene (Richard) Snyders. He was preceded in death by Henry J. Wagner, Jr., Melissa (Charles) Stewart, Donald Stech, Jack Kennelly and Lawrence Wagner.  

He served his country honorably in the US Army with the 8th Army, Occupation of Japan, 1946-1947.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2:00 - 6:00 P.M. at the DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATORY, 1801 S. Douglas Rd., Oswego, IL 60543-0665.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, November 4, 2013 10:00 A.M. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 551 Boulder Hill Pass, Oswego, IL 60543.  Cremation will take place followed by the private inurnment of cremains, Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL.
