Floyd W. Foss, 86, was an Oswego Village Trustee, Member of the American Legion

Floyd Foss also served with the US Navy and the US Air Force in WWII and the Korean War, respectively.

Floyd W Foss, age 86, formerly of Oswego, IL died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Seasons Hospice Inpatient in Naperville, IL.  He was born July 2, 1927 in Oswego, IL the son of the late William and Erma (nee Fuller) Foss.

Floyd served his country honorably during with the US Navy at the end of World War II, the US Air Force during the Korean War and the Illinois National Guard. He also served his community as Village of Oswego trustee for many years.  He was a life member of the following organizations Oswego American Legion Post #675 (where he was a Past Commander), Memorial VFW Post #7452 and Disabled American Veterans..

Floyd is survived by three sisters Norma Sampson of Montgomery, IL, Delia Willis of Las Vegas, NV and Vera Wheaton of Montgomery, IL; also several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death his wife Phyllis, three sisters Nina Crider, Olive Holtz, Jackie Dodd, and a brother Ozro “Bud” Foss.

He will be missed by his family and friends.

Cremation took place at American Crematory followed by burial at the Oswego Cemetery in Oswego, IL.
