KENDALL COUNTY, IL — One more case of the new coronavirus was confirmed by the Kendall County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases in the county to four. Two cases were confirmed on Saturday, March 21, while the first patient in the county was confirmed on March 18. The latest patient to test positive for the virus is a county resident; a man in his 70s.

The county Health Department urges all county residents to continue practicing good hygiene and social distancing techniques. Wash hands often, regularly sanitize high-use surfaces, avoid public social situations when possible and maintain at least six feet between individuals when social functions are unavoidable. Governor Pritzker's 'stay at home' executive order is also still in effect, and will remain so until April 7. This order stipulates that all people should stay at home unless they must go out for essential reasons. These include getting supplies, seeking medical aid, and going to work in industries where working from home is impossible.

The four coronavirus cases in Kendall County are, according to data tracking by John Hopkins University, part of the 1,050 confirmed cases in Illinois and 35,241 confirmed cases in the U.S. as of the morning of March 23.
